Parent takes legal action over daughter's dyslexia

A father is taking legal action against two schools and a council, claiming they failed to identify his daughter’s severe dyslexia.

Raymond Golding, 62, is seeking £225,400 from Essex County Council, Shalford Primary School and Tabor Science College, Braintree.

His 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with dyslexia at 13 after her learning difficulties were flagged up by teachers at St Felix School, a private school in Southwold, Suffolk.

Full story in the Braintree and Witham Times.

Is this the best approach to take to protect your children or is this simply seeking compensation after the fact?

We would be very interested to hear your opinions on this.
